Can one Heyline account run two businesses?
Yes. Growth runs up to 3 businesses on one account and Scale up to 5. Each business gets its own receptionist, its own dedicated number and its own notes, hours and voice. One subscription covers them all, and the monthly minutes pool across every business you run.
Starter is a single business. The cap counts businesses, not people or logins, and each one answers under its own name — a caller to the landscaping line never hears the snow-removal greeting.
Two businesses means two lines ringing while you are on a job. Only 42% of inbound calls end up booked at a typical shop, and 24% at one with fewer than five technicians (ServiceTitan platform data, 3,000-plus US and Canadian trade businesses, 2022). Whatever the first line leaks, the second leaks in the same way.
How many businesses does each plan cover?
Every business on the account is its own receptionist with its own dedicated number. The minutes are the shared part.
| Plan | Price | Businesses | Included minutes a month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $99/mo | 1 | 200 |
| Growth | $199/mo | up to 3 | 500, pooled |
| Scale | $499/mo | up to 5 | 1,500, pooled |
Prices in USD. Yearly billing is two months free. The same business caps apply during the 14-day trial.

How do pooled minutes work across two businesses?
On Growth and Scale the included minutes are one pool for the account, not a ration per business. A quiet month on the landscaping line leaves more for the snow-removal line in January. There is one subscription per account, so one bill and one renewal date.
Pooling is the only difference between one business and three on the bill. Growth's 500 and Scale's 1,500 minutes are counted once, for the account, so nothing is reserved for a business that has a slow month and nothing is stranded when another has a busy one.
What happens when the pool runs out — the alert, the automatic top-up and the monthly cap — is the same on every plan and is explained on pricing.
How do I add a second business?
From the dashboard, the same way you built the first one.
Paste the second website
Sign in, start a new receptionist and paste that business's site. No website for it? The short form asks the six things her notes need instead.
Meet her in the browser
She is built in about sixty seconds — about 25 seconds on average across 26 real business websites in our July 2026 test — and you can talk to her on the page, free.
Keep her
Claiming her adds a business to the account instead of replacing the first. Your plan sets how many slots you have, and the same caps apply during the trial.
Connect that business's calendar
Pick the Google Calendar this business should book into. She checks when you're busy there and writes the appointment into that calendar, not the other one.
Go live on the second line
Going live gets that business its own dedicated number. Publish it, or forward the calls you miss on that line to it.
Do the two receptionists ever get mixed up?
No. Calls are routed by the number dialed, so she knows which business she is answering for before she says a word — which services exist, which hours to quote, which calendar to book into. Rename one business and only that one changes.
Example greeting for the second business: “Hi, you've reached Ridgeway Window Cleaning. I'm their AI assistant — this call may be recorded. How can I help?” Her name, her voice and everything she knows belong to that business alone.
Returning-caller recognition works inside one business and never across two of yours, and calls, messages and to-dos stay filed under the business they came from. More on that in returning-caller recognition, and the plan lines are on pricing.
What multiple receptionists is not
It isn't teams, roles or seats. There are no extra users to invite and no permissions to hand out — one account, several businesses.
It isn't multi-location. Growth and Scale hold separate businesses, each with its own number and its own notes, not branches of one business sharing a line.
She never transfers a caller from one of your businesses to another. Heyline has no transfer of any kind — at the edge of her notes she writes the caller down and files a to-do under the business that was dialed.
Nothing is unlimited. Minutes are metered on every plan and shared across your businesses, never stacked per business.
Frequently asked questions
I own two businesses — can I use one account?
Yes. One Heyline account holds up to 3 businesses on Growth and up to 5 on Scale, and a single subscription covers them. Each business is set up on its own — its own website, notes, hours, voice and dedicated number — so callers only ever hear the business they dialed. Starter covers one business.
Can two receptionists share one number?
No. Every business gets its own dedicated number when it goes live, and calls are routed by the number dialed. That is how she knows which business she is answering for, whose hours to quote and which calendar to book into. If you want one line for everything, run it as one business.
Do minutes pool across my businesses?
Yes, on Growth and Scale. The 500 or 1,500 included minutes are one pool for the whole account, so a busy month on one business simply draws more of it. Starter has no pool: it is one business with 200 minutes. What happens when the pool runs out is the same on every plan and lives on the pricing page.
What happens to a receptionist's calls if I delete her?
It's permanent. Deleting a receptionist removes that business and everything filed under it — calls, messages and bookings — releases its number, and frees the plan slot right away. There is no undo and no export, and your other businesses are untouched. Billing doesn't change: no refund, no proration, minutes already used stay used.
Two businesses, one place to hear them both.
Build the line that rings most, then add the other when you're ready.
