Company
Built so you can hear it first.
An AI receptionist for service businesses in the United States and Canada, built by a solo founder at Builts AI. What she does, why she exists, and where she stops.
What is Heyline, and who makes it?
Heyline is an AI receptionist for small service businesses across the United States and Canada. She picks up your business line, books jobs into your own Google Calendar, and emails you a recap afterwards. Heyline is a product of Builts AI, and one founder builds it. You meet her before you pay for her.
That is the entire product. You hand over a website address. She reads it, and about sixty seconds later she is ready to answer — so you call her yourself, in the browser, before anything is signed. No phone tree to draw. Nothing to configure. No rules to write.
The scope is narrow on purpose: English, the United States and Canada, one calendar, one number for each business. Everything on this page is either something the product does today, or something we say plainly that it does not do.
Why does Heyline exist?
Because the phone rings when your hands are full. The owner of a two-person shop takes the call from a job site or does not take it at all, and the caller who lands in voicemail moves on to the next name on Google.
The gap is measurable. ServiceTitan's 2022 platform data, drawn from more than 3,000 trade businesses in the US and Canada, puts the typical shop's booking rate at 42% of the calls that arrive — and at 24% once a shop has fewer than five technicians on the roster. Every five-point improvement in that rate is worth roughly $100,000 a year to a shop with five to fourteen technicians (ServiceTitan, 2022).
Heyline is built for the small end of that table: one to five people, the owner answering the phone, the schedule living in Google Calendar. Too small for dispatch software, too busy to hire a front desk, covered today by voicemail. She is the front desk that shop can actually staff, priced by the minute.
What does Heyline commit to?
Five rules the product is built on. Principles from the inside; promises from the outside.
- You hear her before you pay. She is built from your website first, and you call her yourself — no account, no card, no number involved. Nothing here is a recording of somebody else's business.
- She decides what she can; you correct the rest. She picks a fitting voice, fills in what your site actually says, and drafts the questions she should ask callers. You are never handed an empty form.
- One of everything. One input: your website address. One calendar: Google. One number for each business. One decision about price. The short list is the feature.
- Plain words. "Forward the calls you miss", not "configure conditional call routing". If a sentence needs a glossary open beside it, it is the wrong sentence.
- Honest failure. When she does not know, she says so and takes a message rather than guessing. When a line is paused, callers hear a short notice instead of dead air.
The things she is built to refuse
A price that is not in her notes never leaves her mouth. She offers a free estimate and hands you the caller's details.
Medical, legal and health-safety questions get nothing out of her, hedged or otherwise. She declines and takes a message.
Card numbers never reach her. A caller who begins reading one out is stopped mid-digit, whatever the reason offered.
She never passes for a person. The opening line names her as an AI and says the call may be recorded, and no edit can strip either clause out.
No texts. No calls out. No handing the caller over to your cell mid-conversation. None of that exists in Heyline today, and no page here will imply it does.
Who builds Heyline?
Heyline is a product of Builts AI. A solo founder builds it — the same person who writes these pages, reads the support mail, and decides what does not ship.
You can see that in the product. One calendar rather than five. One language rather than a flag menu. Two Google permissions rather than a blanket request — calendar.freebusy and calendar.events.owned — so she can check when you are busy and put the appointment on your calendar. Google-verified Calendar access (2026-08-27).
What you will not find on this site: customer counts, logos, testimonials, uptime figures or an accuracy percentage. None of them exist yet, and inventing one would be the first promise broken. Our privacy policy covers the data side in its own words.
How do you reach us?
Two inboxes and one dashboard page. Your receptionist, your account, or a call she got wrong: support@heyline.ai. A request about your data: privacy@heyline.ai. Plan changes, invoices and cancellation are yours to make under Billing. Contact sets out which is which.
Whichever one you write to, the answer comes back from the person building the product. That is what a company this small can offer in place of a switchboard, and it is why the reply is in writing rather than on hold music.
Frequently asked questions
Who is behind Heyline?
Heyline is a product of Builts AI, and a solo founder builds it. That is the honest whole of the company story: no team page, no office photo, no founding legend. What matters more is that the product is narrow on purpose — one calendar, one number for each business, English, the United States and Canada.
Why can I talk to her before I pay anything?
Because a receptionist is a voice, and a voice cannot be judged from a page of bullet points. Heyline builds her from your website and then hands you the microphone — no account, no card, nothing to install. If she sounds wrong for your shop, you have lost a few minutes and nothing else.
Why does Heyline only do one of everything?
One input: your website address. One calendar: Google. One number for each business. One decision about price. Every extra option is one more thing an owner has to get right at 7 AM with the truck running. Each one removed is a choice fewer between a website address and a phone that gets answered.
Why are there no customer logos or reviews on this site?
Because there are none we can honestly publish. Heyline is early, and customer counts, testimonials and named businesses are the easiest things in software to invent. The trades listed around this site are categories, not customers. The proof on offer instead is a call you can place yourself, free, before you sign up.
How do you decide what to claim on this site?
Every number here carries its source and its year: the booking rates further up are 2022 industry data, and the sentence that uses them says so. Where a figure does not exist — uptime, accuracy, how many jobs she wins you — the page says nothing rather than estimating something. A claim we cannot point at gets cut.
What does "a product of Builts AI" mean?
Builts AI is the company; Heyline is the product it makes. You will see the company name in the footer, the privacy policy and the terms, and nowhere that changes how anything works. The receptionist your callers hear introduces herself with your business name, never with ours.
